With just a few weeks to go before
Nike’s Air Max Day 2020 celebrations, according to py_leaks, the beloved Air
Max 90 collaboration “Bacon” is set to receive a new version in March.
The style originally began in New York
City's sneaker boutique in late 2005, with Dave's quality meat, with red,
pink, and candle-like resemblance to a pig's belly resembling leather and
suede. The original release pairs are currently dead stock prices above $1000
in the secondary market. Note that the picture
above is from the initial launch as leaked images for the upcoming drop are not
available.
Nike also confirmed a month ago, plans to celebrate the 30th anniversary
of the Air Max 90 this year by returning the classic model to its original form
with the launch of the new Tonal “sail” Colorway Journey and extra makeup,
Coming up in the next couple of months.
Although the official release date has
not been announced yet, there are rumors that the DQM X Nike Air Max 90
"Bacon" will be re-released in March. Check back soon for updates.
Update (06/18): Although rumors of a
March release has surfaced and the Air Max 90 has gone unnoticed, it seems
there is still hope for fans of Dave's quality meet collaboration. While the
details are still few, @soleheatonfeet reports that the fall
has begun again, this time waiting for the 2020 holidays to launch. What separates this update from previous rumors is the
addition of a style and color code, which makes it more plausible that a
re-release is in fact happening.
Update (01/16): After
much anticipation, this year's Air Max 90 first appears on "Bacon" an
ad courtesy of eBay user J. Stalls. There is currently no official release date
for the return of the shoe, but additional details are expected in the coming
weeks.
