Ø A year ago, most
people didn't even hear of Covid-19. But virtually overnight, all attention is
turned to this invisible but deadly disease. That's right. Lives are at risk.
Ø In doing so, the focus
has shifted from one larger and more endangered threat to humans and the
planet: climate and nature crises.
Ø We must all redouble our efforts. Because, even if time is not on our side, we have a window to work on.
FOR HEALTHIER PLANET:
At first to reduce plastic use.
To increases the use of Recycle plastic.
Try
to more use biodegradable products.
Plastic very much adjacent in our daily
activity, we suddenly cannot be finished with plastic use but we can reuse it
and reduce it in regular works. However, we will try to obey the Five things to
end plastic pollution.
News headlines are deadly. A male whale dies after swallowing 80 plastic bags on a Thai beach; the Image of a tortoise trapped in six-pack plastic rings; A sad picture of the little seahorse stuck in plastic earphones goes viral. Plastic products are washed daily from Indonesia to the beaches around the world off the coast of West Africa, and waterways in cities are increasingly littered with plastic waste.
But the world is watching and countries,
the private sector, and communities are starting to work. Various single-use
plastic bags and policies ranging from taxes to invest in waste collection and
policies to reduce plastic packaging, to beach cleaning. We are trying to end
plastic addiction and contribute to a healthier life and a healthier planet.
1.SAY NO PLASTIC BAGS
Approximately 1 million plastic bags are used per minute and a single plastic bag can take up to 1000 years to degrade. Over the past two decades, more and more countries and cities have banned or imposed tariffs on plastic bags (e.g., Rwanda, California) to discourage people from choosing plastic bags. Plastics have had varying degrees of success in this activity, but you can recycle your own when you shop.
2.Bottle your Own Water
Did you know that people now buy about million plastic bottles every minute and most plastics are not recycled? How many have you bought this week? Here's a quick win ... Bottle your own water bottle or whatever you're drinking. Put a reusable bottle in your bag, put two on your desk: a mug for hot drinks; A glass for something cold. Plastic bottles usually made of polyethylene terephthalate (pets) decompose naturally.
3. Skip Plastic Straws
Plastic straws are one of the top marine plastic items found worldwide and are not generally recyclable. As a customer, use your voice to deny plastic straws and straighteners in restaurants, cafes, and restaurants. Contribute to the movement of paper straw, since Starbucks and McDonald's are starting, or digging the straw perfectly. If you are desperate for straw, bring your own. Bamboo and metal straw are now more available.
4. Avoid Plastic Cutlery
Order
takeout? Ask the salesperson to avoid plastic cutlets. Lunch? Use reusable
silverware (and plates and cups). France became the first country to enact a
law in 2020 banning plastic plates, glasses, and cutters in the hope of
stimulating innovation in biodegradable products. Compare prices and change
your own attitude towards choosing more sea-friendly exercises.
Decide to green at home by choosing products
with less plastic packaging. Stay away from culture. Avoid cosmetics and
personal hygiene products including microbeads. Microbeads, a kind of
microplastics, small dots on your toothpaste, and facial scrubs. New research
has shown an increasing amount of microbial damage to marine life, leading to potential
damage to human health. Shop around before investing in clothing that has
synthetic microfibers. Often when these items are washed, they release
microfibers into the water, which make their way to oceans, and may then be
ingested by fish and other marine creatures.
These five relatively simple actions can
revolutionize our relationship with plastic. Let’s use our voice and behavior
to cut the tide of plastic pollution. Perhaps then we will read stories about
virgin beaches and happy turtles.
